One of the leaders of the postexilic Jewish community who signed the written agreement to keep the law during the time of Ezra and Nehemiah (Neh 10:26). The Peshitta reads “Hanani” for this name, possibly to distinguish him from the Hanan mentioned in Neh 10:22.

Hanan of Nehemiah 10:26 (חָנָן‎, chanan). One of the leaders of the postexilic Jewish community who signed the written agreement to keep the law during the time of Ezra and Nehemiah (Neh 10:26).
