HAMUL
HAMUL, HAMULITES hay´muhl, hay´muh-lit [חָמוּלkhamul]. 1. The younger son of PEREZ and grandson of Judah and TAMAR (Gen 46:12; 1 Chr 2:5). The name means “spared.” However, the Samaritan Pentateuch and LXX forms mean “God protects.”2. Hamul is the ancestral head of the clan of the Hamulites (Num 26:21).
