Haggiah (Person)
HAGGIAH (PERSON) [Heb ḥaggiyâ (חַגִּיָה)]. A Levite, a descendant of Merari and father of Asaiah (1 Chr 6:15—Eng 6:30). Noth (IPN, 222) argued that the last portion of the name is hypocoristic, not theophoric, so instead of meaning “Feast of Yah” it would mean “Born on a feast day.”Tom Wayne Willett
