GIBEA (PERSON) [Heb gibʿāʾ (גִּבְעָא)]. Son of Sheva and grandson of Caleb’s concubine Maacah (1 Chr 2:49, cf. v 48). The name probably means “highlander.” In the LXX it appears as gaibaa. There is some speculation (Braun 1 Chronicles WBC, 42) that this name might relate to the place name Gibeah (see
