Fleeting In Ps. 39:4 (MT 5) Heb. ḥāḏēl, “transient,” is used to convey the brevity of human life (see Eternity). “Fleeting” translates the niphal of nāḏap̱, “scatter,” in Prov. 21:6. One plausible interpretation of this verse is that the accumulation of wealth through lying is something ephemeral
