The Philistine residents of Ashkelon (Josh 13:3; spelled “Eshkalonites” by the KJV at Josh 13:3). Joshua lists the lord of the Ashkelonites as one among the five rulers of the Philistine Pentapolis. Samson killed 30 men from Ashkelon (Judg 14:19).
