ENCOURAGEMENT
ENCOURAGEMENT [אָמֵןʾamets, חָזַקkhazaq, סָמַךְsamakh; παρακαλέω parakaleō, παράκλησις paraklēsis]. In the OT, the verb encourage expresses the concepts of several Hebrew words. The noun encouragement is absent in the NRSV. The texts present both positive and negative examples of encouragement.
