EASTERN SEA (PLACE) [Heb hayyām haqqadmônı̂ (הַיָּם הַקַּדְמֹונִי)]. A body of water or a sea to the E of the land of Israel. The term is employed three times in the Prophets: Joel 2:20; Zech 14:8; Ezek 47:18, the former two as part of an idiomatic expression designating one of two opposite points
