EGYPT (PERSON) [Heb miṣrayim (מִצְרַיִם)]. The second of four “sons” of Ham and the “father” of seven whose -îm endings suggest they are to be regarded as peoples (Gen 10:6, 13–14). Egypt appears as a personification of the land of Egypt in the Table of Nations.Richard S. Hess
