Chislev
Chislev (kiz´lev), the Hebrew name for the ninth month of the Jewish religious calendar (Neh. 1:1; Zech. 7:1; 1 Macc. 1:54; 4:52, 59; 2 Macc. 1:9, 18; 10:5). Its equivalent in the Gregorian calendar is mid-November to mid-December. The name was borrowed from the Akkadian month name Kisliwu (or Kislimu).
