Chaereas
Chaereas (Χαιρέας, Chaireas). An Ammonite leader who fought against Judas Maccabeus and secured the fortress of Gazara (or “Jazer”). Chaereas and his brother Timotheus were captured and killed by Judas Maccabeus at Gazara (2 Macc 10:32–37).
