Caleb, Israelite Spy, Son of Jephunneh
Caleb, Israelite Spy, Son of Jephunneh (כָּלֵב בֶּן־יְפֻנֶּה‎, kalev ben-yephunneh). One of 12 spies Moses sent into the promised land (Num 13). A member of the tribe of Judah (Num 13:6), he was the father of Iru, Elah, Naam (1 Chr 4:15), and Achsah (1 Chr 2:49). He was the ancestor of the Calebites.
