Brushwood [Heb. śôḵaṯ ‘ēṣîm—‘branches of trees’ (Jgs. 9:48), hamāsîm (Isa. 64:2)]; AV BOUGH, “melting.” Cut boughs of trees, decayed and dried out, useful for kindling fires.
