Bible, Interpretation of the
Bible, Interpretation of the. Theological term for the process of discovering the meaning and message of the Bible. To interpret is to bring out the true meaning of something written or spoken, particularly by restating it in other words. One synonym is simply “to explain”; another is “to translate.”
