Beth-Biri
Beth-Biri (בַּיִת בִּרְאִי‎, bayith bir'iy). A town south of Jerusalem, in the Negev, where Simeon’s tribe dwelt prior to the reign of king David (1 Chr 4:31).

Beth-Biri beth-bir̀ī [Heb. bêṯ-birˊî; Gk. oíkos Braoumseōreim]; AV, NEB, BETHBIREI. A site belonging to Simeon in the Negeb (1 Ch. 4:31). The consonants suggest a meaning “house (or place) of my Creator,” but the vowel pointing does not, and the Greek seems to support a different reading. In Josh.

Beth-Biri [bĕth bĭrˊī] (Heb. bêṯ-bir˒î). A city belonging to the tribe of Simeon (1 Chr. 4:31; KJV “Beth-birei”). At Josh 19:6 it is called Beth-lebaoth (Heb. bêṯ leḇā˒ôṯ “lair of lionesses”; cf. 15:32, “Lebaoth”). A possible site is Jebel el-Biri, approximately 32 km. (20 mi.)
