According to the Vaticanus reading of 1 Esdras 9:31, Bescaspasmys is listed among the descendants of Addi (Αδδι, Addi) who had married foreign wives. Codex Alexandrinus reads “Matthanias” (ματθανιας, matthanias) instead of Bescaspasmys (compare the parallel passage in Ezra 10:30).
