BERECHIAH (PERSON) [Heb berekyâ (בֶּרֶכְיָה‎), berekyāhû (בֶּרֶכְיָהוּ)]. Var. BERACAH. 1. A son of Zerubbabel (1 Chr 3:20) and descendant of David. The list of Zerubbabel’s offspring consists of two sections. Berechiah is one of five names occurring after a listing of two other sons and a daughter.
