Fayumic
Fayumic. A dialect of *Coptic spoken in early Christian times in Middle Egypt. The NT was translated into it, probably from *Sahidic, but only a few fragments of the version exist. It was formerly known (incorrectly) as ‘Bashmuric’, from a province in the Delta.
