Autographa [ôtˊə grăfˊə] (Gk. autográphai “the writings themselves”). The original manuscripts of the biblical text written or dictated by the biblical authors themselves. All of these, however, have been lost; most were probably written on papyrus, which probably disintegrated early through frequent
