The residents of Aroer (1 Chr 11:44). Although Aroer is a common place name, the Aroerites of 1 Chr 11:44 are most likely residents of the Aroer to the west of the Jordan River (1 Sam 30:28). Hotham the Aroerite was the father of Shama and Jeiel, two captains in the service of King David.
