Ammihud (father of Elishama)
Excerpt from the Lexham Bible Dictionary, the most advanced Bible dictionary.
A member of the tribe of Ephraim identified as the father of Elishama. Aside from appearing in the genealogy of the tribe of Ephraim in 1 Chr 7:20–29, this Ammihud is only mentioned in the patronym (that is, the father’s name) given for Elishama, who was the chief of the tribe of Ephraim during the time Israel spent wandering in the wilderness (Num 1:10; 2:18; 7:48, 53; 10:22; 1 Chr 7:26). The genealogical information in 1 Chr 7:26–27 suggests Ammihud was the great-grandfather of Joshua.
