Aher (אַחֵר‎, acher). A descendant of Benjamin (1 Chr 7:12). This name may be a shortened form of Ahiram (Num 26:38), or Aharah (1 Chr 8:1).

AHER (PERSON) [Heb ʾaḥēr (אַחֵר)]. The father of Hushim according to the MT of 1 Chr 7:12; the name is attested only in this tribal genealogy. The MT of 1 Chr 7:12 reads wĕšuppim wĕḥuppim bĕnê ʿı̂r ḥūšim bĕnê ʾaḥēr, lit. “And Shuppim and Huppim the sons of Ir, Hushim the sons of Aher.”
