Afterbirth
Afterbirth [Heb. šilyâ, Akk. šilītu] (Dt. 28:57). The allusion is to the consequences of disobedience to the covenant stipulations, which will result in such privation as to make a selfish cannibal of the most delicately bred and sensitive woman (cf. Lam. 2:20).
