Adam of Marsh (Adam de Marisco)
Adam of Marsh (Adam de Marisco) (d. c. 1258), English *Franciscan theologian. He was probably a native of Somerset, educated at *Oxford, and after being ordained priest received the living of *Wearmouth from his uncle, Richard, Bp. of *Durham. In 1232 or 1233 he entered the Franciscan Order at *Worcester

Marsh, Adam
Marsh, Adam (?–ca. 1258). Known as Doctor illustris, he studied at Oxford under ⇒Grosseteste. Later he was the first Franciscan teacher in that university (1247–50). His theology is a traditional Augustinianism.JLG
