The Path of the Righteous and the Path of the Wicked

112 Praise Yah!a

Blessed is the man who fears Yahweh;

he takes great delight in his commands.

His descendantsb will be mighty in the land;

the generation of the upright will be blessed.

Wealth and riches are in his house,

and his righteousness endures forever.

His light rises in the darkness for the upright;

he is gracious and compassionate and righteous.

It goes well for a man who is gracious and lends,

who conducts his business properly.c

For he will not be shaken forever;

the righteous will be remembered forever.d

He is not afraid of bad news;

his heart is steadfast, securee in Yahweh.

His heart is sustained; he will not be afraid,

until he looks in triumph on his enemies.

He gives lavishlyf to the needy;

his righteousness endures forever.

His horn rises high in honor.

10 The wickedg sees it and is vexed.

He gnashes his teeth and becomes weak.h

The desire of the wickedi perishes.

About The Lexham English Bible

The Lexham English Bible contains a translation of the original languages into smooth, readable English. It also contains copious footnotes which address translation issues, instances of Old Testament quotations in the New Testament, and various textual-critical issues. This translation also indicates the use of idioms in the Greek and Hebrew text. In cases where a literal rendering of Greek or Hebrew would prevent a smooth English translation, footnotes indicate the literal English translation, accompanied by explanatory notes as necessary.
