Benjamin Gate (שַׁעַר בִּנְיָמִין, sha'ar binyamin). A gate in the wall of pre-exilic Jerusalem (Jer 37:13; 38:7). Since Jeremiah attempted to pass through it on his way to Benjamin’s territory, which was northeast of Jerusalem (Jer 37:12–13), it is thought that this gate was at the northeast corner of the city. It also was been opposite the Corner Gate, which was on the west side of the city (Zech 14:10). It may be the same as the Upper Benjamin Gate of Jer 20:2.
