Psalm 34

A Psalm of David, when ahe changed his behaviour before ||Abimelech; who bdrove him away, and bhe departed.

I will bless the Lord cat all times:

His praise shall continually be in my mouth.

dMy soul shall emake her boast in the Lord:

The humble shall hear thereof, and eebe glad.

O fmagnify the Lord with me,

And let us exalt his name together.

I gsought the Lord, and he hheard me,

And delivered me from all my fears.

They looked unto him, and ||were lightened:

And their faces were not ashamed.

This poor man hcried, and the Lord heard him,

And isaved him out of all his troubles.

kThe angel of the Lord lencampeth

Round about them that fear him, and delivereth them.

O mtaste and see that mmthe Lord is good:

nBlessed is the man that otrusteth in him.

O fear the Lord, ye his saints:

For there is no want to them that fear him.

10  pThe young lions do lack, and suffer hunger:

But qthey that seek the Lord shall not want any good thing.

11  qqCome, ye children, hearken unto me:

I will teach you the fear of the Lord.

12  rWhat man is he that desireth life,

And loveth many days, that he may ssee good?

13  tKeep thy tongue from evil,

And thy lips from uspeaking guile.

14  wDepart from evil, and do good;

Seek peace, and xpursue it.

15  yThe eyes of the Lord are upon the righteous,

And zhis ears are open unto their cry.

16  aThe face of the Lord is against them that do evil,

bTo cut off the remembrance of them from the earth.

17  bbThe righteous cry, and cthe Lord heareth,

cAnd delivereth them out of all their troubles.

18  dThe Lord is nigh unto them that are of a ebroken heart;

And saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.

19  fMany are the afflictions of the righteous:

gBut the Lord delivereth him out of them all.

20  He keepeth all his bones:

hNot one of them is broken.

21  iEvil shall slay the wicked:

And they that hate the righteous ||shall be desolate.

22  *The Lord kredeemeth the soul of his servants:

And none of them that trust in him ||shall be desolate.
