15 A asoft answer turneth away wrath:

But bgrievous words stir up anger.

The tongue of the wise cuseth knowledge aright:

dBut the mouth of fools poureth out foolishness.

eThe eyes of the Lord are in every place,

Beholding the evil and the good.

A wholesome tongue is fa tree of life:

But gperverseness therein is a breach in the spirit.

ggA fool hdespiseth his father’s instruction:

iBut he that regardeth reproof kis prudent.

In the house of the righteous is much ltreasure:

But in the revenues of the wicked is trouble.

The lips of the wise disperse knowledge:

But mthe heart of the foolish doeth nnot so.

The osacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the Lord:

But the prayer of the upright is his delight.

The way of the wicked is an abomination unto the Lord:

But he loveth phim that followeth after righteousness.

10  ||Correction is qgrievous unto him that forsaketh the way:

And he that rhateth reproof shall die.

11  sHell and destruction are before the Lord:

How much more then tthe hearts of the children of men?

12  A scorner uloveth not one that reproveth him:

Neither will he go unto the wise.

13  xA merry heart cmaketh a cheerful countenance:

But yby sorrow of the heart the spirit is zbroken.

14  aThe heart of him that hath understanding seeketh knowledge:

But the mouth of fools feedeth on foolishness.

15  All the days of the afflicted are evil:

But he that is xof a merry heart hath a continual feast.

16  bBetter is little with the fear of the Lord

Than great treasure and trouble therewith.

17  cBetter is a ddinner of herbs where love is,

Than ea stalled ox and hatred therewith.

18  fA wrathful man fgstirreth up strife:

But he that is hslow to anger appeaseth strife.

19  iThe way of the slothful man is as kan hedge of thorns:

But the way of the righteous is made plain.

20  lA wise son maketh a glad father:

But a foolish man despiseth his mother.

21  mFolly is joy to him that is destitute of wisdom:

But a man of understanding nwalketh uprightly.

22  oWithout counsel purposes are disappointed:

oBut in the multitude of counsellers they are established.

23  A man hath joy by the answer of his mouth:

And pa word spoken qin due season, how good is it!

24  The way of life is rabove to the wise,

That he may depart from hell beneath.

25  sThe Lord will tdestroy the house of the proud:

But he will uestablish wthe border of xthe widow.

26  yThe thoughts of the wicked are an abomination to the Lord:

But the words of the pure are zpleasant words.

27  aHe that is greedy of gain troubleth his own house;

But bhe that hateth gifts shall live.

28  The heart of the righteous cstudieth to answer:

dBut the mouth of the wicked poureth out evil things.

29  The Lord is efar from the wicked:

But fhe heareth the prayer of the righteous.

30  gThe light of the eyes rejoiceth the heart:

And ha good report imaketh the bones fat.

31  kThe ear that heareth the reproof of life

kkAbideth lamong the wise.

32  kHe that llrefuseth ||instruction mdespiseth his own soul:

But he that ||heareth reproof getteth understanding.

33  nThe fear of the Lord is the instruction of wisdom;

And obefore honour is humility.
