Psalm 2044

For the music director; a psalm of David.

20:1 May the Lord answer1 you2 when you are in trouble;3

may the God of Jacob4 make you secure!

20:2 May he send you help from his temple;5

from Zion may he give you support!

20:3 May he take notice6 of your offerings;

may he accept7 your burnt sacrifice!

20:4 May he grant your heart’s desire;8

may he bring all your plans to pass!9

20:5 Then we will shout for joy over your10 victory;

we will rejoice11 in the name of our God!

May the Lord grant all your requests!

20:6 Now I am sure12 that the Lord will deliver13 his chosen king;14

he will intervene for him15 from his holy heavenly temple,16

and display his mighty ability to deliver.17

20:7 Some trust in chariots and others in horses,18

but we19 depend on20 the Lord our God.

20:8 They will fall down,21

but we22 will stand firm.23

20:9 The Lord will deliver the king;24

he will answer us25 when we call to him for help!26
