THE FIRST BOWL

16 Then I heard a loud voice from the temple saying to the seven angels,l “Go and pour out the sevenC bowlsm of God’s wrath on the earth.” The first went and poured out his bowl on the earth, and severely painful soresn broke out on the people who had the mark of the beast and who worshiped its image.

THE SECOND BOWL

The secondD poured out his bowl into the sea. It turned to blood like that of a dead person, and all life in the sea died.o

THE THIRD BOWL

The thirdD poured out his bowl into the rivers and the springs of water, and they became blood.p I heard the angel of the waters say,

You are just,

the Holy One,q who is and who was,r

because you have passed judgment on these things.

Because they poured out

the blood of the saints and the prophets,s

you have given them blood to drink;

they deserve it!t

I heard the altar say,

Yes, Lord God, the Almighty,

true and just are your judgments.u

THE FOURTH BOWL

The fourthD poured out his bowl on the sun. It was allowed to scorch people with fire, and people were scorched by the intense heat. So they blasphemed the name of God,v who has the powerE over these plagues, and they did not repent and give him glory.w

THE SIXTH BOWL

12 The sixthD poured out his bowl on the great river Euphrates,aa and its water was dried upab to prepare the way for the kings from the east. 13 Then I saw three unclean spirits like frogsac coming from the dragon’s mouth,ad from the beast’s mouth,ae and from the mouth of the false prophet.af 14 For they are demonic spirits performing signs,ag who travel to the kings of the whole world to assemble themah for the battle on the great day of God, the Almighty.ai 15 “Look, I am coming like a thief. Blessedaj is the one who is alert and remains clothedG,ak so that he may not go around naked and people see his shame.”al 16 So they assembled the kings at the place called in Hebrew, Armageddon.H,am

THE SEVENTH BOWL

17 Then the seventhD poured out his bowl into the air,I and a loud voice came out of the templeA,a from the throne, saying, “It is done!” 18 There were flashes of lightning, rumblings, and peals of thunder. Babylon the Great was remembered in God’s presence; he gave her the cup filled with the wine of his fierce anger.d 20 Every island fled, and the mountains disappeared.e 21 Enormous hailstones, each weighing about a hundred pounds,C fell from the sky on people, and they blasphemed Godf for the plague of hail because that plague was extremely severe.g

CSB

About Christian Standard Bible

The Christian Standard Bible (CSB) is a highly trustworthy, faithful translation that is proven to be the optimal blend of accuracy and readability. It’s as literal to the original as possible without sacrificing clarity. The CSB is poised to become the translation that pastors rely on and Bible readers turn to again and again to read and to share with others.

The CSB is an original translation: more than 100 scholars from 17 denominations translated directly from the best available Hebrew, Greek and Aramaic source texts into English. Its source texts are the standard used by scholars and seminaries today.

The CSB is trustworthy: the conservative, evangelical scholars of the CSB affirm the authority of Scripture as the inerrant Word of God and seek the highest level of faithfulness to the original and accuracy in their translation. These scholars and LifeWay, the non-profit ministry that stewards the CSB, also champion the Bible against cultural trends that would compromise its truths.

The CSB is clear: it is as literal a translation of the ancient source texts as possible, but, in the many places throughout Scripture where a word-for-word rendering might obscure the meaning for a modern audience, it uses a more dynamic translation. In all cases, the intent is to convey the original meaning of God’s Word as faithfully and as clearly as possible.
