John 18:36–38

36 hJesus answered, iMy kingdom is not of this world. If My kingdom were of this world, My servants would fight, so that I should not be delivered to the Jews; but now My kingdom is not from here.”

37 Pilate therefore said to Him, “Are You a king then?”

Jesus answered, You say rightly that I am a king. For this cause I was born, and for this cause I have come into the world, jthat I should bear kwitness to the truth. Everyone who lis of the truth mhears My voice.”

38 Pilate said to Him, “What is truth?” And when he had said this, he went out again to the Jews, and said to them, n“I find no fault in Him at all.”

John 18:36–38 — The New International Version (NIV)

36 Jesus said, My kingdom is not of this world. If it were, my servants would fight to prevent my arrest by the Jewish leaders. But now my kingdom is from another place.”

37 “You are a king, then!” said Pilate.

Jesus answered, You say that I am a king. In fact, the reason I was born and came into the world is to testify to the truth. Everyone on the side of truth listens to me.”

38 “What is truth?” retorted Pilate. With this he went out again to the Jews gathered there and said, “I find no basis for a charge against him.

After Pilate said this, he went out to the Jews again and told them, “I don’t find this man guilty of anything.
