Jeremiah 23:6–9 — The New International Version (NIV)

In his days Judah will be saved

and Israel will live in safety.

This is the name by which he will be called:

The Lord Our Righteous Savior.

“So then, the days are coming,” declares the Lord, “when people will no longer say, ‘As surely as the Lord lives, who brought the Israelites up out of Egypt,’ but they will say, ‘As surely as the Lord lives, who brought the descendants of Israel up out of the land of the north and out of all the countries where he had banished them.’ Then they will live in their own land.”

Concerning the prophets:

My heart is broken within me;

all my bones tremble.

I am like a drunken man,

like a strong man overcome by wine,

because of the Lord

and his holy words.

“Therefore, behold, the days are coming, declares the Lord, when they shall no longer say, ‘As the Lord lives who brought up the people of Israel out of the land of Egypt,’ but ‘As the Lord lives who brought up and led the offspring of the house of Israel out of the north country and out of all the countries where he had driven them.’ Then they shall dwell in their own land.”

Concerning the prophets:

My heart is broken within me;

all my bones shake;

like a man overcome by wine,

because of the Lord

and because of his holy words.

Jeremiah 23:6–9 — King James Version (KJV 1900)

In his days Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell safely: and this is his name whereby he shall be called, THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS. Therefore, behold, the days come, saith the Lord, that they shall no more say, The Lord liveth, which brought up the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt; But, The Lord liveth, which brought up and which led the seed of the house of Israel out of the north country, and from all countries whither I had driven them; and they shall dwell in their own land.

Mine heart within me is broken because of the prophets;

All my bones shake;

I am like a drunken man,

And like a man whom wine hath overcome,

Because of the Lord, and because of the words of his holiness.

Jeremiah 23:6–9 — New Living Translation (NLT)

And this will be his name:

‘The Lord Is Our Righteousness.’

In that day Judah will be saved,

and Israel will live in safety.

“In that day,” says the Lord, “when people are taking an oath, they will no longer say, ‘As surely as the Lord lives, who rescued the people of Israel from the land of Egypt.’ Instead, they will say, ‘As surely as the Lord lives, who brought the people of Israel back to their own land from the land of the north and from all the countries to which he had exiled them.’ Then they will live in their own land.”

My heart is broken because of the false prophets,

and my bones tremble.

I stagger like a drunkard,

like someone overcome by wine,

because of the holy words

the Lord has spoken against them.

Jeremiah 23:6–9 — New Century Version (NCV)

In his time Judah will be saved,

and Israel will live in safety.

This will be his name:

The Lord Does What Is Right.

“So the days are coming,” says the Lord, “when people will not say again: ‘As surely as the Lord lives, who brought Israel out of Egypt …’ But people will say something new: ‘As surely as the Lord lives, who brought the descendants of Israel from the land of the north and from all the countries where he had sent them away …’ Then the people of Israel will live in their own land.”

A message to the prophets:

My heart is broken.

All my bones shake.

This is because of the Lord

and his holy words.

And they shall dwell in their own land.

Concerning the prophets: My heart within me is broken; all my bones shake; I am like a drunken man, and like a man whom wine hath overcome; because of Jehovah, and because of the words of his holiness.

Jeremiah 23:6–9 — GOD’S WORD Translation (GW)

In his lifetime, Judah will be saved,

and Israel will live in safety.

This is the name that he will be given:

The Lord is our righteousness.

“That is why the days are coming,” declares the Lord, “when people’s oaths will no longer be, ‘The Lord brought the people of Israel out of Egypt. As the Lord lives.…’ Instead, their oaths will be, ‘The Lord brought the descendants of the nation of Israel out of the land of the north and all the lands where hehad scattered them. As the Lord lives.…’ At that time they will live in their own land.

“⸤Say this⸥ about the prophets:

I am deeply disturbed.

All my bones tremble.

I am like a drunk,

like a person who has had too much wine,

because of the Lord and his holy words.

Jeremiah 23:6–9 — The Holman Christian Standard Bible (HCSB)

In His days Judah will be saved,

and Israel will dwell securely.

This is what He will be named:

Yahweh Our Righteousness.

“The days are coming” —the Lord’s declaration—“when it will no longer be said, ‘As the Lord lives who brought the Israelites from the land of Egypt,’ but, ‘As the Lord lives, who brought and led the descendants of the house of Israel from the land of the north and from all the other countries where I had banished them.’ They will dwell once more in their own land.”

Concerning the prophets:

My heart is broken within me,

and all my bones tremble.

Concerning the prophets:

My heart is crushed within me,

all my bones shake;

I have become like a drunkard,

like one overcome by wine,

because of the Lord

and because of his holy words.

Jeremiah 23:6–9 — The Lexham English Bible (LEB)

Concerning the prophets:

My heart is broken in my midst.

All my bones tremble.

I have become like a drunken man,

even like a man over whom wine has passed,

because of Yahweh,

and because of his holy words.

Jeremiah 23:6–9 — New International Reader’s Version (1998) (NIrV)

In his days Judah will be saved.

Israel will live in safety.

And the Branch will be called

The Lord Who Makes Us Right With Himself.

“Other days are also coming,” announces the Lord. “At that time people will no longer say, ‘The Lord brought the people of Israel up out of Egypt. And that’s just as sure as he is alive.’

“Instead, they will say, ‘The Lord brought the people of Israel up out of the land of the north. He gathered them out of all of the countries where he had forced them to go. And that’s just as sure as he is alive.’ Then they will live in their own land.”

Here is my message about the prophets.

My heart is broken inside me.

All of my bones tremble with fear.

I am like a man who is drunk.

I am like someone who has had too much wine.

That’s what the Lord’s holy words

have done to me.

Jeremiah 23:6–9 — New American Standard Bible: 1995 Update (NASB95)

“In His days Judah will be saved,

And Israel will dwell securely;

And this is His name by which He will be called,

‘The Lord our righteousness.’

Therefore behold, the days are coming,” declares the Lord, “when they will no longer say, ‘As the Lord lives, who brought up the sons of Israel from the land of Egypt,’

but, ‘As the Lord lives, who brought up and led back the descendants of the household of Israel from the north land and from all the countries where I had driven them.’ Then they will live on their own soil.”

As for the prophets:

My heart is broken within me,

All my bones tremble;

I have become like a drunken man,

Even like a man overcome with wine,

Because of the Lord

And because of His holy words.
