23 I will drive him like a peg into a firm place; he will become a seat of honor for the house of his father. 24 All the glory of his family will hang on him: its offspring and offshoots—all its lesser vessels, from the bowls to all the jars.

23 And I will fasten him like a peg in a secure place, and he will become a throne of honor to his father’s house. 24 And they will hang on him the whole honor of his father’s house, the offspring and issue, every small vessel, from the cups to all the flagons.

23 And I will fasten him as a nail in a sure place;

And he shall be for a glorious throne to his father’s house.

24 And they shall hang upon him all the glory of his father’s house,

The offspring and the issue,

All vessels of small quantity,

From the vessels of cups, even to all the vessels of flagons.

23 He will bring honor to his family name, for I will drive him firmly in place like a nail in the wall. 24 They will give him great responsibility, and he will bring honor to even the lowliest members of his family.”

23 He will be like an honored chair in his father’s house. I will make him strong like a peg that is hammered into a strong board. 24 All the honored and important things of his family will depend on him; all the adults and little children will depend on him. They will be like bowls and jars hanging on him.

23 And I will fasten him as a nail in a sure place; and he shall be for a throne of glory to his father’s house. 24 And they shall hang upon him all the glory of his father’s house, the offspring and the issue, every small vessel, from the cups even to all the flagons.

and he will be a source of honor for his father’s household. 

24 They will hang on him the whole weight of his father’s household, 

descendants and offspring and all the little utensils, 

from bowls to jars of every kind.”

23 I will fasten him like a peg in a secure place, and he will become a throne of honor to his ancestral house. 24 And they will hang on him the whole weight of his ancestral house, the offspring and issue, every small vessel, from the cups to all the flagons.

23 And I will drive him in like a peg into a secure place,

and he will become like a throne of glory to the house of his father.

24 And they will hang all of the heaviness of his father’s house on him,

the offspring and the offshoot,

all of the small vessels,

from the bowls to the jars.

23 The Lord will set him firmly in place like a peg that is driven into a wall. He will hold a position of honor in his family. 24 The good name of his whole family will depend on him. They will be like bowls and jars hanging on a peg.

23 “I will drive him like a peg in a firm place,

And he will become a throne of glory to his father’s house.

24 “So they will hang on him all the glory of his father’s house, offspring and issue, all the least of vessels, from bowls to all the jars.
