No one except the gods can tell you your dream, and they do not live here among people.”

Daniel 2:10–11 — New Century Version (NCV)

Only the gods could tell the king this, but the gods do not live among people.”

Daniel 2:10–11 — American Standard Version (ASV)

10 The Chaldeans answered before the king, and said, There is not a man upon the earth that can show the king’s matter, forasmuch as no king, lord, or ruler, hath asked such a thing of any magician, or enchanter, or Chaldean. 11 And it is a rare thing that the king requireth, and there is no other that can show it before the king, except the gods, whose dwelling is not with flesh.

Daniel 2:10–11 — 1890 Darby Bible (DARBY)

10 The Chaldeans answered before the king and said, There is not a man upon the earth that can shew the king’s matter; therefore there is no king, however great and powerful, that hath asked such a thing of any scribe, or magician, or Chaldean. 11 For the thing that the king demandeth is extraordinary, and there is none other that can shew it before the king, except the gods, whose dwelling is not with flesh.

No one can tell what you dreamed except the gods, and they don’t live with humans.”

Those who get knowledge by using magic have never been asked to do what you are asking. And those who study the heavens haven’t been asked to do it either. 11 What you are asking is much too hard. No one can tell you what you dreamed except the gods. And they don’t live among human beings.”
