Philippians 2:5–7 — English Standard Version (ESV)

Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men.

Philippians 2:5–7 — King James Version (KJV 1900)

Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:

Philippians 2:5–7 — New Living Translation (NLT)

You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had.

Though he was God,

he did not think of equality with God

as something to cling to.

Instead, he gave up his divine privileges;

he took the humble position of a slave

and was born as a human being.

When he appeared in human form,

Philippians 2:5–7 — The New King James Version (NKJV)

Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men.

Philippians 2:5–7 — New Century Version (NCV)

In your lives you must think and act like Christ Jesus.

Christ himself was like God in everything.

But he did not think that being equal with God was something to be used for his own benefit.

But he gave up his place with God and made himself nothing.

He was born as a man

and became like a servant.

Philippians 2:5–7 — American Standard Version (ASV)

Have this mind in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: who, existing in the form of God, counted not the being on an equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied himself, taking the form of a servant, being made in the likeness of men;

Philippians 2:5–7 — 1890 Darby Bible (DARBY)

For let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus; who, subsisting in the form of God, did not esteem it an object of rapine to be on an equality with God; but emptied himself, taking a bondman’s form, taking his place in the likeness of men;

Philippians 2:5–7 — GOD’S WORD Translation (GW)

Have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had.

Although he was in the form of God and equal with God,

he did not take advantage of this equality.

Instead, he emptied himself by taking on the form of a servant,

by becoming like other humans,

by having a human appearance.

Philippians 2:5–7 — The Holman Christian Standard Bible (HCSB)

Make your own attitude that of Christ Jesus,

who, existing in the form of God,

did not consider equality with God

as something to be used for His own advantage.

Instead He emptied Himself

by assuming the form of a slave,

taking on the likeness of men.

And when He had come as a man

in His external form,

Philippians 2:5–7 — The New Revised Standard Version (NRSV)

Let the same mind be in you that was in Christ Jesus,

who, though he was in the form of God,

did not regard equality with God

as something to be exploited,

but emptied himself,

taking the form of a slave,

being born in human likeness.

And being found in human form,

Philippians 2:5–7 — The Lexham English Bible (LEB)

Think this in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus,

who, existing in the form of God,

did not consider being equal with God something to be grasped,

but emptied himself

by taking the form of a slave,

by becoming in the likeness of people.

And being found in appearance like a man,

Philippians 2:5–7 — New International Reader’s Version (1998) (NIrV)

You should think in the same way Christ Jesus does.

In his very nature he was God.

But he did not think that being equal with God was something he should hold on to.

Instead, he made himself nothing.

He took on the very nature of a servant.

He was made in human form.

Philippians 2:5–7 — New American Standard Bible: 1995 Update (NASB95)

Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus,

who, although He existed in the form of God, did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped,

but emptied Himself, taking the form of a bond-servant, and being made in the likeness of men.
