13 “If you prepare your heart,

you will stretch out your hands toward him.

14 If iniquity is in your hand, put it far away,

15 Surely then you will lift up your face without blemish;

you will be secure and will not fear.

16 You will forget your misery;

you will remember it as waters that have passed away.

Job 11:13–16 — King James Version (KJV 1900)

13 If thou prepare thine heart,

And stretch out thine hands toward him;

14 If iniquity be in thine hand, put it far away,

And let not wickedness dwell in thy tabernacles.

15 For then shalt thou lift up thy face without spot;

Yea, thou shalt be stedfast, and shalt not fear:

16 Because thou shalt forget thy misery,

And remember it as waters that pass away:

Job 11:13–16 — New Living Translation (NLT)

13 “If only you would prepare your heart

and lift up your hands to him in prayer!

it will be like water flowing away.

Job 11:13–16 — The New King James Version (NKJV)

13 “If you would prepare your heart,

And stretch out your hands toward Him;

14 If iniquity were in your hand, and you put it far away,

And would not let wickedness dwell in your tents;

15 Then surely you could lift up your face without spot;

Yes, you could be steadfast, and not fear;

16 Because you would forget your misery,

And remember it as waters that have passed away,

Job 11:13–16 — New Century Version (NCV)

13 “You must give your whole heart to him

and hold out your hands to him for help.

14 Put away the sin that is in your hand;

let no evil remain in your tent.

15 Then you can lift up your face without shame,

and you can stand strong without fear.

16 You will forget your trouble

and remember it only as water gone by.

Job 11:13–16 — American Standard Version (ASV)

13 If thou set thy heart aright,

And stretch out thy hands toward him;

14 If iniquity be in thy hand, put it far away,

And let not unrighteousness dwell in thy tents.

15 Surely then shalt thou lift up thy face without spot;

Yea, thou shalt be stedfast, and shalt not fear:

16 For thou shalt forget thy misery;

Thou shalt remember it as waters that are passed away,

Job 11:13–16 — 1890 Darby Bible (DARBY)

13 If thou prepare thy heart and stretch out thy hands toward him, 14 If thou put far away the iniquity which is in thy hand, and let not wrong dwell in thy tents; 15 Surely then shalt thou lift up thy face without spot, and thou shalt be stedfast and shalt not fear: 16 For thou shalt forget misery; as waters that are passed away shalt thou remember it;

Job 11:13–16 — GOD’S WORD Translation (GW)

13 “If you want to set your heart right,

then pray to him.

14 If you’re holding on to sin, put it far away,

and don’t let injustice live in your tent.

15 Then you will be able to show your face without being ashamed,

and you will be secure and unafraid.

16 ⸤Then⸥ you will forget your misery

and remember it like water that has flowed downstream.

Job 11:13–16 — The Holman Christian Standard Bible (HCSB)

13 As for you, if you redirect your heart

and lift up your hands to Him in prayer—

14 if there is iniquity in your hand, remove it,

and don’t allow injustice to dwell in your tents—

15 then you will hold your head high, free from fault.

You will be firmly established and unafraid.

16 For you will forget your suffering,

recalling it only as waters that have flowed by.

Job 11:13–16 — The New Revised Standard Version (NRSV)

13 “If you direct your heart rightly,

you will stretch out your hands toward him.

14 If iniquity is in your hand, put it far away,

and do not let wickedness reside in your tents.

15 Surely then you will lift up your face without blemish;

you will be secure, and will not fear.

16 You will forget your misery;

you will remember it as waters that have passed away.

Job 11:13–16 — The Lexham English Bible (LEB)

13 “If you yourself direct your heart

and stretch out your hands to him—

14 if iniquity is in your hand, put it far away,

and you must not let wickedness reside in your tents—

15 surely then you will lift up your face without blemish,

and you will be firmly established and will not fear.

16 For you yourself will forget your misery;

you will remember it as water that has flowed past.

Job 11:13–16 — New International Reader’s Version (1998) (NIrV)

13 “So commit yourself to God completely.

Reach out your hands to him for help.

14 Get rid of all of the sin you have.

Don’t let anything that is evil stay in your tent.

15 Then you can face others without feeling any shame.

You can stand firm without being afraid.

16 You can be sure you will forget your troubles.

They will be like water that has flowed on by.

Job 11:13–16 — New American Standard Bible: 1995 Update (NASB95)

13 If you would direct your heart right

And spread out your hand to Him,

14 If iniquity is in your hand, put it far away,

And do not let wickedness dwell in your tents;

15 Then, indeed, you could lift up your face without moral defect,

And you would be steadfast and not fear.

16 “For you would forget your trouble,

As waters that have passed by, you would remember it.
