Hebrews 8:1–3

The High Priest of a New Covenant

8 Now the main point of what we are saying is this: We do have such a high priest,s who sat down at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in heaven,t and who serves in the sanctuary, the true tabernacleu set up by the Lord, not by a mere human being.

Every high priestv is appointed to offer both gifts and sacrifices,w and so it was necessary for this one also to have something to offer.x

Hebrews 8:1–3 — English Standard Version (ESV)

Now the point in what we are saying is this: we have such a high priest, one who is seated at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in heaven, a minister in the holy places, in the true tent that the Lord set up, not man. For every high priest is appointed to offer gifts and sacrifices; thus it is necessary for this priest also to have something to offer.
