Psalm 95:6–11 — The New International Version (NIV)

Come, let us bow down in worship,

let us kneel before the Lord our Maker;

for he is our God

and we are the people of his pasture,

the flock under his care.

Today, if only you would hear his voice,

“Do not harden your hearts as you did at Meribah,

as you did that day at Massah in the wilderness,

where your ancestors tested me;

they tried me, though they had seen what I did.

10 For forty years I was angry with that generation;

I said, ‘They are a people whose hearts go astray,

and they have not known my ways.’

11 So I declared on oath in my anger,

‘They shall never enter my rest.’ ”

Psalm 95:6–11 — English Standard Version (ESV)

Oh come, let us worship and bow down;

let us kneel before the Lord, our Maker!

For he is our God,

and we are the people of his pasture,

and the sheep of his hand.

Today, if you hear his voice,

do not harden your hearts, as at Meribah,

as on the day at Massah in the wilderness,

when your fathers put me to the test

and put me to the proof, though they had seen my work.

10 For forty years I loathed that generation

and said, “They are a people who go astray in their heart,

and they have not known my ways.”

11 Therefore I swore in my wrath,

“They shall not enter my rest.”

Psalm 95:6–11 — King James Version (KJV 1900)

O come, let us worship and bow down:

Let us kneel before the Lord our maker.

For he is our God;

And we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand.

To day if ye will hear his voice,

Harden not your heart, as in the provocation,

And as in the day of temptation in the wilderness:

When your fathers tempted me,

Proved me, and saw my work.

10 Forty years long was I grieved with this generation,

And said, It is a people that do err in their heart,

And they have not known my ways:

11 Unto whom I sware in my wrath

That they should not enter into my rest.

Psalm 95:6–11 — New Living Translation (NLT)

Come, let us worship and bow down.

Let us kneel before the Lord our maker,

for he is our God.

We are the people he watches over,

the flock under his care.

If only you would listen to his voice today!

The Lord says, “Don’t harden your hearts as Israel did at Meribah,

as they did at Massah in the wilderness.

For there your ancestors tested and tried my patience,

even though they saw everything I did.

10 For forty years I was angry with them, and I said,

‘They are a people whose hearts turn away from me.

They refuse to do what I tell them.’

11 So in my anger I took an oath:

‘They will never enter my place of rest.’ ”

Psalm 95:6–11 — The New King James Version (NKJV)

Oh come, let us worship and bow down;

Let us kneel before the Lord our Maker.

For He is our God,

And we are the people of His pasture,

And the sheep of His hand.

Today, if you will hear His voice:

“Do not harden your hearts, as in the rebellion,

As in the day of trial in the wilderness,

When your fathers tested Me;

They tried Me, though they saw My work.

10 For forty years I was grieved with that generation,

And said, ‘It is a people who go astray in their hearts,

And they do not know My ways.’

11 So I swore in My wrath,

‘They shall not enter My rest.’ ”

Psalm 95:6–11 — New Century Version (NCV)

Come, let’s worship him and bow down.

Let’s kneel before the Lord who made us,

because he is our God

and we are the people he takes care of,

the sheep that he tends.

Today listen to what he says:

“Do not be stubborn, as your ancestors were at Meribah,

as they were that day at Massah in the desert.

There your ancestors tested me

and tried me even though they saw what I did.

10 I was angry with those people for forty years.

I said, ‘They are not loyal to me

and have not understood my ways.’

11 I was angry and made a promise,

‘They will never enter my rest.’ ”

Psalm 95:6–11 — American Standard Version (ASV)

Oh come, let us worship and bow down;

Let us kneel before Jehovah our Maker:

For he is our God,

And we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand.

To-day, oh that ye would hear his voice!

Harden not your heart, as at Meribah,

As in the day of Massah in the wilderness;

When your fathers tempted me,

Proved me, and saw my work.

10 Forty years long was I grieved with that generation,

And said, It is a people that do err in their heart,

And they have not known my ways:

11 Wherefore I sware in my wrath,

That they should not enter into my rest.

Psalm 95:6–11 — 1890 Darby Bible (DARBY)

Come, let us worship and bow down; let us kneel before Jehovah our Maker.

For he is our God; and we are the people of his pasture and the sheep of his hand. To-day if ye hear his voice, Harden not your heart, as at Meribah, as in the day of Massah, in the wilderness; When your fathers tempted me, proved me, and saw my work. 10 Forty years was I grieved with the generation, and said, It is a people that do err in their heart, and they have not known my ways; 11 So that I swore in mine anger, that they should not enter into my rest.

Psalm 95:6–11 — GOD’S WORD Translation (GW)

Come, let’s worship and bow down.

Let’s kneel in front of the Lord, our maker,

because he is our God

and we are the people in his care,

the flock that he leads.

If only you would listen to him today!

“Do not be stubborn like ⸤my people were⸥ at Meribah,

like the time at Massah in the desert.

Your ancestors challenged me and tested me there,

although they had seen what I had done.

10 For 40 years I was disgusted with those people.

So I said, ‘They are a people whose hearts continue to stray.

They have not learned my ways.’

11 That is why I angrily took this solemn oath:

‘They will never enter my place of rest!’ ”

Psalm 95:6–11 — The Holman Christian Standard Bible (HCSB)

Come, let us worship and bow down;

let us kneel before the Lord our Maker.

For He is our God,

and we are the people of His pasture,

the sheep under His care.

Today, if you hear His voice:

Do not harden your hearts as at Meribah,

as on that day at Massah in the wilderness

where your fathers tested Me;

they tried Me, though they had seen what I did.

10 For 40 years I was disgusted with that generation;

I said, “They are a people whose hearts go astray;

they do not know My ways.”

11 So I swore in My anger,

“They will not enter My rest.”

Psalm 95:6–11 — The New Revised Standard Version (NRSV)

O come, let us worship and bow down,

let us kneel before the Lord, our Maker!

For he is our God,

and we are the people of his pasture,

and the sheep of his hand.

O that today you would listen to his voice!

Do not harden your hearts, as at Meribah,

as on the day at Massah in the wilderness,

when your ancestors tested me,

and put me to the proof, though they had seen my work.

10 For forty years I loathed that generation

and said, “They are a people whose hearts go astray,

and they do not regard my ways.”

11 Therefore in my anger I swore,

“They shall not enter my rest.”

Psalm 95:6–11 — The Lexham English Bible (LEB)

Come in, let us worship and bow down;

let us kneel before Yahweh, our maker.

For he is our God,

and we are the people of his pasture

and the sheep of his hand.

Today if you will hear his voice:

“Do not harden your heart as at Meribah,

as in the day of Massah in the wilderness,

when your ancestors tried me.

They put me to the test,

even though they had seen my work.

10 For forty years I loathed that generation,

and said, ‘They are a people whose heart wanders.

And my ways they do not know.’

11 Therefore I swore in my anger,

‘They shall surely not enter into my rest.’ ”

Psalm 95:6–11 — New International Reader’s Version (1998) (NIrV)

Come, let us bow down and worship him.

Let us fall on our knees in front of the Lord our Maker.

He is our God.

We are the sheep belonging to his flock.

We are the people he takes good care of.

Listen to his voice today.

If you hear it, don’t be stubborn as you were at Meribah.

Don’t be stubborn as you were that day at Massah in the desert.

There your people of long ago really put me to the test.

They did it even though they had seen what I had done for them.

10 For 40 years I was angry with them.

I said, “Their hearts are always going down the wrong path.

They do not know how I want them to live.”

11 So when I was angry, I took an oath.

I said, “They will never enjoy the rest I planned for them.”
