Psalm 90:4–6 — The New International Version (NIV)

A thousand years in your sight

are like a day that has just gone by,

or like a watch in the night.

Yet you sweep people away in the sleep of death—

they are like the new grass of the morning:

In the morning it springs up new,

but by evening it is dry and withered.

Psalm 90:4–6 — English Standard Version (ESV)

For a thousand years in your sight

are but as yesterday when it is past,

or as a watch in the night.

You sweep them away as with a flood; they are like a dream,

like grass that is renewed in the morning:

in the morning it flourishes and is renewed;

in the evening it fades and withers.

Psalm 90:4–6 — King James Version (KJV 1900)

For a thousand years in thy sight

Are but as yesterday when it is past,

And as a watch in the night.

Thou carriest them away as with a flood; they are as a sleep:

In the morning they are like grass which groweth up.

In the morning it flourisheth, and groweth up;

In the evening it is cut down, and withereth.

Psalm 90:4–6 — New Living Translation (NLT)

For you, a thousand years are as a passing day,

as brief as a few night hours.

You sweep people away like dreams that disappear.

They are like grass that springs up in the morning.

In the morning it blooms and flourishes,

but by evening it is dry and withered.

Psalm 90:4–6 — The New King James Version (NKJV)

For a thousand years in Your sight

Are like yesterday when it is past,

And like a watch in the night.

You carry them away like a flood;

They are like a sleep.

In the morning they are like grass which grows up:

In the morning it flourishes and grows up;

In the evening it is cut down and withers.

Psalm 90:4–6 — New Century Version (NCV)

To you, a thousand years

is like the passing of a day,

or like a few hours in the night.

While people sleep, you take their lives.

They are like grass that grows up in the morning.

In the morning they are fresh and new,

but by evening they dry up and die.

Psalm 90:4–6 — American Standard Version (ASV)

For a thousand years in thy sight

Are but as yesterday when it is past,

And as a watch in the night.

Thou carriest them away as with a flood; they are as a sleep:

In the morning they are like grass which groweth up.

In the morning it flourisheth, and groweth up;

In the evening it is cut down, and withereth.

Psalm 90:4–6 — 1890 Darby Bible (DARBY)

For a thousand years, in thy sight, are as yesterday when it is past, and as a watch in the night. Thou carriest them away as with a flood; they are as a sleep: in the morning they are like grass that groweth up: In the morning it flourisheth and groweth up; in the evening it is cut down and withereth.

Psalm 90:4–6 — GOD’S WORD Translation (GW)

Indeed, in your sight a thousand years are like a single day,

like yesterday—already past—

like an hour in the night.

You sweep mortals away.

They are a dream.

They sprout again in the morning like cut grass.

In the morning they blossom and sprout.

In the evening they wither and dry up.

Psalm 90:4–6 — The Holman Christian Standard Bible (HCSB)

For in Your sight a thousand years

are like yesterday that passes by,

like a few hours of the night.

You end their lives; they sleep.

They are like grass that grows in the morning—

in the morning it sprouts and grows;

by evening it withers and dries up.

Psalm 90:4–6 — The New Revised Standard Version (NRSV)

For a thousand years in your sight

are like yesterday when it is past,

or like a watch in the night.

You sweep them away; they are like a dream,

like grass that is renewed in the morning;

in the morning it flourishes and is renewed;

in the evening it fades and withers.

Psalm 90:4–6 — The Lexham English Bible (LEB)

For a thousand years in your eyes

are like yesterday when it passes,

or like a watch in the night.

You sweep them away like a flood.

They fall asleep.

In the morning they are like grass that sprouts anew.

In the morning it blossoms and sprouts anew;

by evening it withers and dries up.

Psalm 90:4–6 — New International Reader’s Version (1998) (NIrV)

To you a thousand years

are like a day that has just gone by.

They are like a few hours of the night.

You sweep people away, and they die.

They are like new grass that grows in the morning.

In the morning it springs up new,

but by evening it’s all dried up.
