1 The Lord said to Moses, 2 “Speak to the entire assembly of Israel and say to them: ‘Be holy because I, the Lord your God, am holy.

3 “ ‘Each of you must respect your mother and father, and you must observe my Sabbaths. I am the Lord your God.

4 “ ‘Do not turn to idols or make metal gods for yourselves. I am the Lord your God.

5 “ ‘When you sacrifice a fellowship offering to the Lord, sacrifice it in such a way that it will be accepted on your behalf. 6 It shall be eaten on the day you sacrifice it or on the next day; anything left over until the third day must be burned up. 7 If any of it is eaten on the third day, it is impure and will not be accepted. 8 Whoever eats it will be held responsible because they have desecrated what is holy to the Lord; they must be cut off from their people.

5 “When you offer a sacrifice of peace offerings to the Lord, you shall offer it so that you may be accepted. 6 It shall be eaten the same day you offer it or on the day after, and anything left over until the third day shall be burned up with fire. 7 If it is eaten at all on the third day, it is tainted; it will not be accepted, 8 and everyone who eats it shall bear his iniquity, because he has profaned what is holy to the Lord, and that person shall be cut off from his people.

3 “Each of you must show great respect for your mother and father, and you must always observe my Sabbath days of rest. I am the Lord your God.

4 “Do not put your trust in idols or make metal images of gods for yourselves. I am the Lord your God.

5 “When you sacrifice a peace offering to the Lord, offer it properly so you will be accepted by God. 6 The sacrifice must be eaten on the same day you offer it or on the next day. Whatever is left over until the third day must be completely burned up. 7 If any of the sacrifice is eaten on the third day, it will be contaminated, and I will not accept it. 8 Anyone who eats it on the third day will be punished for defiling what is holy to the Lord and will be cut off from the community.

But if any is left on the third day, you must burn it up. 7 If any of it is eaten on the third day, it is unclean, and it will not be accepted. 8 Anyone who eats it then will be guilty of sin, because he did not respect the holy things that belong to the Lord. He must be cut off from the people.

3 “Respect your mother and father. Observe my days of rest as holy days. I am the Lord your God. 

4 “Don’t turn to worthless gods or cast metal idols. Never make any gods for yourselves. I am the Lord your God. 

5 “When you bring a fellowship offering to the Lord, sacrifice it ⸤properly⸥ so that you will be accepted. 6 Eat your sacrifice on the day you bring it and on the next day. On the third day burn whatever is left over. 7 If you eat any of it on the third day, it is repulsive and will not be accepted. 8 Those who eat it will be punished because they have dishonored what is holy to the Lord. They must be excluded from the people.

1 Then Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying, 2 “Speak to all the community of the Israelites, and say to them, ‘You must be holy, because I, Yahweh your God, am holy. 3 Each of you must revere your mother and your father, and you must keep my Sabbaths; I am Yahweh your God. 4 You must not turn to idols, and you must not make for yourselves gods of cast metal; I am Yahweh your God.

5 “ ‘And when you sacrifice a sacrifice of fellowship offerings to Yahweh, you must sacrifice it for your acceptance. 6 It must be eaten on the day of your sacrifice and the next day; but the remainder must be burned up in the fire by the third day. 7 And if it is indeed eaten on the third day, it is unclean meat; it shall not be regarded as accepted. 8 And the one who eats it shall bear his guilt, because he has profaned Yahweh’s holiness, and that person shall be cut off from his people.

3 “ ‘All of you must have respect for your mother and father. You must always keep my Sabbath days. I am the Lord your God.

4 “ ‘Do not turn away from me to worship statues of gods. Do not make gods out of metal for yourselves. I am the Lord your God.

5 “ ‘Suppose you sacrifice a friendship offering to me. Then do it in the right way. And I will accept it from you. 6 You must eat it on the same day you sacrifice it or on the next day. Anything that is left over until the third day must be burned up.

7 “ ‘If you eat any of it on the third day, it is not pure. I will not accept it. 8 If you eat it, you will be held accountable. You have misused what is holy to me. You will be cut off from your people.
