Jeremiah 15:15–17 — The New International Version (NIV)

15 Lord, you understand;

remember me and care for me.

Avenge me on my persecutors.

You are long-suffering—do not take me away;

think of how I suffer reproach for your sake.

16 When your words came, I ate them;

they were my joy and my heart’s delight,

for I bear your name,

Lord God Almighty.

17 I never sat in the company of revelers,

never made merry with them;

I sat alone because your hand was on me

and you had filled me with indignation.

Jeremiah 15:15–17 — English Standard Version (ESV)

15 O Lord, you know;

remember me and visit me,

and take vengeance for me on my persecutors.

In your forbearance take me not away;

know that for your sake I bear reproach.

16 Your words were found, and I ate them,

and your words became to me a joy

and the delight of my heart,

for I am called by your name,

O Lord, God of hosts.

17 I did not sit in the company of revelers,

nor did I rejoice;

I sat alone, because your hand was upon me,

for you had filled me with indignation.

Jeremiah 15:15–17 — King James Version (KJV 1900)

15 O Lord, thou knowest: remember me, and visit me, and revenge me of my persecutors; take me not away in thy longsuffering: know that for thy sake I have suffered rebuke. 16 Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart: for I am called by thy name, O Lord God of hosts. 17 I sat not in the assembly of the mockers, nor rejoiced; I sat alone because of thy hand: for thou hast filled me with indignation.

Jeremiah 15:15–17 — New Living Translation (NLT)

15 Then I said,

Lord, you know what’s happening to me.

Please step in and help me. Punish my persecutors!

Please give me time; don’t let me die young.

It’s for your sake that I am suffering.

16 When I discovered your words, I devoured them.

They are my joy and my heart’s delight,

for I bear your name,

O Lord God of Heaven’s Armies.

17 I never joined the people in their merry feasts.

I sat alone because your hand was on me.

I was filled with indignation at their sins.

Jeremiah 15:15–17 — The New King James Version (NKJV)

15 O Lord, You know;

Remember me and visit me,

And take vengeance for me on my persecutors.

In Your enduring patience, do not take me away.

Know that for Your sake I have suffered rebuke.

16 Your words were found, and I ate them,

And Your word was to me the joy and rejoicing of my heart;

For I am called by Your name,

O Lord God of hosts.

17 I did not sit in the assembly of the mockers,

Nor did I rejoice;

I sat alone because of Your hand,

For You have filled me with indignation.

Jeremiah 15:15–17 — New Century Version (NCV)

15 Lord, you understand.

Remember me and take care of me.

Punish for me those who are hurting me.

Don’t destroy me while you remain patient with them.

Think about the shame I suffer for you.

16 Your words came to me, and I listened carefully to them.

Your words made me very happy,

because I am called by your name,

Lord God All-Powerful.

17 I never sat with the crowd

as they laughed and had fun.

I sat by myself, because you were there,

and you filled me with anger at the evil around me.

Jeremiah 15:15–17 — American Standard Version (ASV)

15 O Jehovah, thou knowest; remember me, and visit me, and avenge me of my persecutors; take me not away in thy longsuffering: know that for thy sake I have suffered reproach. 16 Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and thy words were unto me a joy and the rejoicing of my heart: for I am called by thy name, O Jehovah, God of hosts. 17 I sat not in the assembly of them that make merry, nor rejoiced; I sat alone because of thy hand; for thou hast filled me with indignation.

15 Jehovah, thou knowest: remember me, and visit me, and avenge me of my persecutors; in thy long-suffering take me not away: know that for thy sake I bear reproach. 16 Thy words were found, and I did eat them, and thy words were unto me the joy and rejoicing of my heart; for I am called by thy name, O Jehovah, God of hosts. 17 I sat not in the assembly of the mockers, nor exulted: I sat alone because of thy hand; for thou hast filled me with indignation.

Jeremiah 15:15–17 — GOD’S WORD Translation (GW)

15 O Lord, you understand.

Remember me, take care of me,

and take revenge on those who persecute me.

Be patient, and don’t take me away.

You should know that I’ve been insulted because of you.

16 Your words were found, and I devoured them.

Your words are my joy and my heart’s delight,

because I am called by your name, O Lord God of Armies.

17 I didn’t keep company with those who laugh and have fun.

I sat alone because your hand was on me.

You filled me with outrage.

Jeremiah 15:15–17 — The Holman Christian Standard Bible (HCSB)

remember me and take note of me.

Avenge me against my persecutors.

In Your patience, don’t take me away.

Know that I suffer disgrace for Your honor.

16 Your words were found, and I ate them.

Your words became a delight to me

and the joy of my heart,

for I am called by Your name,

Yahweh God of Hosts.

and I did not celebrate with them.

Because Your hand was on me, I sat alone,

for You filled me with indignation.

and your words became to me a joy

and the delight of my heart;

Jeremiah 15:15–17 — The Lexham English Bible (LEB)

15 You who know, O Yahweh, remember me, and attend to me,

and take revenge for me against my persecutors in your forbearance.

You must take me away.

Know that I am carrying disgrace because of you.

16 Your words were found and I ate them,

and your words became to me as jubilation,

even as the joy of my heart,

for your name is called on me, O Yahweh God of hosts.

17 I sat not in the assembly of jokers,

nor did I exult.

Because of the presence of your hand I sat alone,

for you filled me with indignation.

Jeremiah 15:15–17 — New International Reader’s Version (1998) (NIrV)

15 Lord, you understand how much I’m suffering.

Show concern for me. Take care of me.

Pay back those who are trying to harm me.

You are patient. Don’t take my life away from me.

Think about how much shame I suffer because of you.

16 When I received your words, I ate them.

They filled me with joy.

My heart took delight in them.

Lord God who rules over all,

I belong to you.

17 I never sat around with those who go to wild parties.

I never had a good time with them.

I sat alone because you had put your powerful hand on me.

Your anger against sin was burning inside me.
