so that fire will devour your cedars!

for the magnificent trees are ruined!

Wail, oaks of Bashan,

for the impenetrable forest has come down!

Listen to the wailing of the shepherds,

for their splendor is ruined!

Listen to the roar of the young lions,

for the thickets of the Jordan are ruined!

Open thy doors, O Lebanon, that the fire may devour thy cedars.

Howl, fir tree; for the cedar is fallen; because the mighty are spoiled:

Howl, O ye oaks of Bashan; for the forest of the vintage is come down.

There is a voice of the howling of the shepherds; for their glory is spoiled:

A voice of the roaring of young lions; for the pride of Jordan is spoiled.

Zechariah 11:1–3 — New Living Translation (NLT)

Open your doors, Lebanon,

so that fire may devour your cedar forests.

Weep, you cypress trees, for all the ruined cedars;

the most majestic ones have fallen.

Weep, you oaks of Bashan,

for the thick forests have been cut down.

Listen to the wailing of the shepherds,

for their rich pastures are destroyed.

Hear the young lions roaring,

for their thickets in the Jordan Valley are ruined.

Zechariah 11:1–3 — The New King James Version (NKJV)

Open your doors, O Lebanon,

That fire may devour your cedars.

Wail, O cypress, for the cedar has fallen,

Because the mighty trees are ruined.

For their glory is in ruins.

There is the sound of roaring lions!

For the pride of the Jordan is in ruins.

Zechariah 11:1–3 — New Century Version (NCV)

Lebanon, open your gates

so fire may burn your cedar trees.

Cry, pine trees, because the cedar has fallen,

because the mighty forest has been cut down.

Listen to the shepherds crying

because their rich pastures are destroyed.

Listen to the lions roaring

because the lovely land of the Jordan River is ruined.
