11 “ ‘For this is what the Sovereign Lord says:

“ ‘The sword of the king of Babylon

will come against you.

12 I will cause your hordes to fall

by the swords of mighty men—

the most ruthless of all nations.

They will shatter the pride of Egypt,

and all her hordes will be overthrown.

13 I will destroy all her cattle

from beside abundant waters

no longer to be stirred by the foot of man

or muddied by the hooves of cattle.

14 Then I will let her waters settle

and make her streams flow like oil,

declares the Sovereign Lord.

15 When I make Egypt desolate

and strip the land of everything in it,

when I strike down all who live there,

then they will know that I am the Lord.’

11 “For thus says the Lord God: The sword of the king of Babylon shall come upon you. 12 I will cause your multitude to fall by the swords of mighty ones, all of them most ruthless of nations.

“They shall bring to ruin the pride of Egypt,

and all its multitude shall perish.

13 I will destroy all its beasts

from beside many waters;

and no foot of man shall trouble them anymore,

nor shall the hoofs of beasts trouble them.

14 Then I will make their waters clear,

and cause their rivers to run like oil,

declares the Lord God.

15 When I make the land of Egypt desolate,

and when the land is desolate of all that fills it,

when I strike down all who dwell in it,

then they will know that I am the Lord.

11 For thus saith the Lord God; The sword of the king of Babylon shall come upon thee. 12 By the swords of the mighty will I cause thy multitude to fall, the terrible of the nations, all of them: and they shall spoil the pomp of Egypt, and all the multitude thereof shall be destroyed. 13 I will destroy also all the beasts thereof from beside the great waters; neither shall the foot of man trouble them any more, nor the hoofs of beasts trouble them. 14 Then will I make their waters deep, and cause their rivers to run like oil, saith the Lord God. 15 When I shall make the land of Egypt desolate, and the country shall be destitute of that whereof it was full, when I shall smite all them that dwell therein, then shall they know that I am the Lord.

11 For this is what the Sovereign Lord says:

“The sword of the king of Babylon

will come against you.

12 I will destroy your hordes with the swords of mighty warriors—

the terror of the nations.

They will shatter the pride of Egypt,

and all its hordes will be destroyed.

13 I will destroy all your flocks and herds

that graze beside the streams.

Never again will people or animals

muddy those waters with their feet.

14 Then I will let the waters of Egypt become calm again,

and they will flow as smoothly as olive oil,

says the Sovereign Lord.

15 And when I destroy Egypt

and strip you of everything you own

and strike down all your people,

then you will know that I am the Lord.

11 “For thus says the Lord God: ‘The sword of the king of Babylon shall come upon you. 12 ‘By the swords of the mighty warriors, all of them the most terrible of the nations, I will cause your multitude to fall.

“They shall plunder the pomp of Egypt,

And all its multitude shall be destroyed.

13 Also I will destroy all its animals

From beside its great waters;

The foot of man shall muddy them no more,

Nor shall the hooves of animals muddy them.

14 Then I will make their waters clear,

And make their rivers run like oil,’

Says the Lord God.

15 ‘When I make the land of Egypt desolate,

And the country is destitute of all that once filled it,

When I strike all who dwell in it,

Then they shall know that I am the Lord.

11 “ ‘So this is what the Lord God says:

The sword of the king of Babylon

will attack you.

12 I will cause your people to fall

by the swords of mighty soldiers,

the most terrible in the world.

They will destroy the pride of Egypt

and all its people.

13 I will also destroy all Egypt’s cattle

which live alongside much water.

The foot of a human will not stir the water,

and the hoofs of cattle will not muddy it anymore.

14 So I will let the Egyptians’ water become clear.

I will cause their rivers to run as smoothly as olive oil,

says the Lord God.

15 When I make the land of Egypt empty

and take everything that is in the land,

when I destroy all those who live in Egypt,

then they will know that I am the Lord.’

11 For thus saith the Lord Jehovah: The sword of the king of Babylon shall come upon thee. 12 By the swords of the mighty will I cause thy multitude to fall; the terrible of the nations are they all: and they shall bring to nought the pride of Egypt, and all the multitude thereof shall be destroyed. 13 I will destroy also all the beasts thereof from beside many waters; neither shall the foot of man trouble them any more, nor the hoofs of beasts trouble them. 14 Then will I make their waters clear, and cause their rivers to run like oil, saith the Lord Jehovah. 15 When I shall make the land of Egypt desolate and waste, a land destitute of that whereof it was full, when I shall smite all them that dwell therein, then shall they know that I am Jehovah.

11 For thus saith the Lord Jehovah: The sword of the king of Babylon shall come upon thee. 12 By the swords of the mighty will I cause thy multitude to fall: the terrible of the nations are they all: and they shall spoil the pride of Egypt, and all the multitude thereof shall be destroyed. 13 And I will destroy all the beasts thereof, from beside the great waters; and the foot of man shall not trouble them any more, nor shall the cloven hoofs of beasts trouble them. 14 Then will I make their waters clear, and cause their rivers to run like oil, saith the Lord Jehovah. 15 When I shall make the land of Egypt a desolation, and the country shall be left desolate of all that was in it, when I have smitten all them that dwell therein, then shall they know that I am Jehovah.

11 “ ‘This is what the Almighty Lord says: The sword of the king of Babylon will attack you. 12 I will cut down your people with the swords of warriors. All of them will be the most ruthless warriors among the nations. They will shatter the pride of Egypt and destroy its many people. 13 I will also destroy all the animals beside its many water sources. The feet of humans and the hoofs of animals won’t stir up the water anymore. 14 Then I will make its water clear and make its streams flow like oil, declares the Almighty Lord. 15 I will turn Egypt into a wasteland. I will take everything in the land, and I will kill all the people who live there. Then they will know that I am the Lord.’ 

11 For this is what the Lord God says:

The sword of Babylon’s king

will come against you!

12 I will make your hordes fall

by the swords of warriors,

all of them ruthless men from the nations.

They will ravage Egypt’s pride,

and all its hordes will be destroyed.

13 I will slaughter all its cattle

that are beside many waters.

No human foot will churn them again,

and no cattle hooves will disturb them.

14 Then I will let their waters settle

and will make their rivers flow like oil.

This is the declaration of the Lord God.

15 When I make the land of Egypt a desolation,

so that it is emptied of everything in it,

when I strike down all who live there,

then they will know that I am Yahweh.

11 For thus says the Lord God:

The sword of the king of Babylon shall come against you.

12 I will cause your hordes to fall

by the swords of mighty ones,

all of them most terrible among the nations.

They shall bring to ruin the pride of Egypt,

and all its hordes shall perish.

13 I will destroy all its livestock

from beside abundant waters;

and no human foot shall trouble them any more,

nor shall the hoofs of cattle trouble them.

14 Then I will make their waters clear,

and cause their streams to run like oil, says the Lord God.

15 When I make the land of Egypt desolate

and when the land is stripped of all that fills it,

when I strike down all who live in it,

then they shall know that I am the Lord.

11 The Lord and King says,

“I will send against you

the sword of the king of Babylonia.

12 I will destroy your huge army.

They will be killed with the swords

of Babylonia’s mighty soldiers.

The soldiers will not show them any pity.

They will bring Egypt down in all of its pride.

Its huge armies will be thrown down.

13 I will destroy all of its cattle

from the places where they have plenty of water.

Human feet will never stir the water up again.

The hoofs of cattle will not make it muddy anymore.

14 I will let the waters of Egypt settle.

I will make its streams flow like olive oil,”

announces the Lord and King.

15 “I will turn Egypt into an empty land.

I will strip away everything in it.

I will strike down everyone who lives there.

Then they will know that I am the Lord.

11 For thus says the Lord God, “The sword of the king of Babylon will come upon you.

12 “By the swords of the mighty ones I will cause your hordes to fall; all of them are tyrants of the nations,

And they will devastate the pride of Egypt,

And all its hordes will be destroyed.

13 “I will also destroy all its cattle from beside many waters;

And the foot of man will not muddy them anymore

And the hoofs of beasts will not muddy them.

14 “Then I will make their waters settle

And will cause their rivers to run like oil,”

Declares the Lord God.

15 “When I make the land of Egypt a desolation,

And the land is destitute of that which filled it,

When I smite all those who live in it,

Then they shall know that I am the Lord.
