16 And you took from your clothes and you made for yourself colorfulu shrines, and you prostituted on them; this had not happened before,v and it will not continue to happen.w 17 And you took your beautiful jewelryx made from my gold and from my silver that I had given to you, and you made for yourself male images,y and you prostituted with them.

16 You took some of your garments to make gaudy high places, where you carried on your prostitution. You went to him, and he possessed your beauty. 17 You also took the fine jewelry I gave you, the jewelry made of my gold and silver, and you made for yourself male idols and engaged in prostitution with them.
