The Death of Joash

23 And it happened at the turn of the year that the army of Aramf went up against him, and they came to Judah and Jerusalem and destroyed all the commanders of the people from among the people, and all the war booty they sent to the king of Damascus. 24 Though the army of Aramg came with few men, Yahweh gave a very large army into their hand, for they had forsaken Yahweh, the God of their ancestors.h And they inflicted punishment on Joash.

2 Chronicles 24:23–24 — The New International Version (NIV)

23 At the turn of the year, the army of Aram marched against Joash; it invaded Judah and Jerusalem and killed all the leaders of the people. They sent all the plunder to their king in Damascus. 24 Although the Aramean army had come with only a few men, the Lord delivered into their hands a much larger army. Because Judah had forsaken the Lord, the God of their ancestors, judgment was executed on Joash.
