16 And he drove them away from the judgment seat. 17 So they all seized Sosthenes, the ruler of the synagogue, and* began beating* him* in front of the judgment seat. And none of these things was a concern to Gallio.

16 So he drove them off. 17 Then the crowd there turned on Sosthenes the synagogue leader and beat him in front of the proconsul; and Gallio showed no concern whatever.
