Romans 9:30–10:8

30 What shall we say then? That the Gentiles, mwhich nfollowed not after righteousness, have nattained to righteousness, oeven the righteousness which is of faith. 31 But Israel, pwhich followed after the law of righteousness, qhath not rattained to the law of righteousness. 32 Wherefore? Because they sought it not by faith, but as it were by the works of the law. For sthey stumbled at that ustumblingstone; 33 As it is written, tBehold, I lay in Sion a ustumblingstone and rock of woffence: and txwhosoever believeth on him shall not be ||ashamed.

10 Brethren, amy heart’s desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved. For I bear them record bthat they have a zeal of God, but cnot according to knowledge. For they being ignorant of dGod’s righteousness, and going about to establish dtheir own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God. For eChrist is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth. For Moses describeth the righteousness which is of the law, That fthe man which doeth those things shall live by them. But dthe righteousness which is of faith speaketh on this wise, gSay not in thine heart, Who shall ascend into heaven? (that is, hto bring Christ down from above:) Or, Who shall descend into the deep? (that is, to bring up Christ again from the dead.) But what saith it? iThe word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;
