Psalm 60:1–12
1 *O God, athou hast cast us off, thou hast †scattered us,
Thou hast been displeased; aaO turn thyself to us again.
2 Thou hast made the earth to tremble; thou hast broken it:
bHeal the breaches thereof; for it shaketh.
3 cThou hast shewed thy people hard things:
dThou hast made us to drink the wine of eastonishment.
4 Thou hast given fa banner to them that fear thee,
That it may be displayed because of gthe truth. Selah.
5 hThat ithy beloved may be delivered;
Save with thy right hand, and khear me.
6 God hath spoken lin his holiness;
I will rejoice, I will divide mShechem,
And nmete out the valley of oSuccoth.
7 pGilead is mine, and Manasseh is mine;
qEphraim also is qqthe strength of mine head;
Judah is rmy lawgiver;
8 sMoab is my washpot;
Over tEdom uwill I cast out my shoe:
wPhilistia, ||triumph thou because of me.
9 Who will bring me into the †strong city?
Who will lead me into Edom?
10 Wilt not thou, O God, which xhadst cast us off?
xxAnd thou, O God, which didst not go out with our armies?
For vain is the †help of man.
12 Through God we shall ydo valiantly:
For he it is that shall ztread down our enemies.
