Psalm 48

*A Song and Psalm ||for the sons of Korah.

aGreat is the Lord, and greatly to be praised

In bthe city of our God, in cthe mountain of his holiness.

dBeautiful for situation, ethe joy of the whole earth, is mount Zion,

fOn the sides of the north, gthe city of the great King.

God is known in her palaces for a hrefuge.

For, lo, ithe kings were assembled, they passed by together.

They saw it, and so they kmarvelled;

They were troubled, and lhasted away.

mFear took hold upon them there,

And npain, oas of a woman in travail.

Thou pbreakest the ships of qTarshish rwith an east wind.

As we have heard, so have we seen

In sthe city of the Lord of hosts, in the city of our God:

God will testablish it for ever. Selah.

We have thought of uthy lovingkindness, O God,

In the midst of thy temple.

10  According to vthy name, O God, so is thy praise unto wthe ends of the earth:

Thy right hand is full of righteousness.

11  Let mount Zion xrejoice,

Let xthe daughters of Judah be glad,

Because of thy judgments.

12  Walk about Zion, and go round about her: tell the towers thereof.

13  Mark ye well her ybulwarks, ||consider her ypalaces;

That ye may tell it zto the generation following.

14  For this God is our God for ever and ever:

He will be our guide even aunto death.
