Then aspake Jesus to the multitude, and to his disciples, Saying, bThe scribes and the Pharisees sit in Mosesseat: All therefore whatsoever they bid you observe, that observe and do; but do not ye after their works: for cthey say, and do not. ccFor they bind heavy burdens and grievous to be borne, and lay them on men’s shoulders; but they themselves will not move them with one of their fingers. But all their works they do dfor to be seen of men: they make broad etheir phylacteries, and enlarge fthe borders of their garments, And love gthe uppermost rooms at feasts, and hthe chief seats in the synagogues, And ghgreetings in the markets, and to be called of men, iRabbi, Rabbi. kBut be not ye called Rabbi: for one is your lMaster, even Christ; and all ye are brethren. And call mno man your father upon the earth: nfor one is your Father, which is in heaven. 10 Neither be ye called omasters: for one is your oMaster, even Christ. 11 But phe that is greatest among you shall be your qservant. 12 And rwhosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted.
